Amazone 2
The Mystical Qualities Of The Amazon Rainforest
The Amazon rainforest is home to a myriad of amazing colours and unique textures. Consider, for example, the feathers of the macaw, the brightly coloured beak of the toucan or the fragile wings of tropical butterflies. Six years ago, this rainforest was the inspiration of the Amazone collection. Now, it is being followed up with the brand-new collection Amazone 2.
The basis for this wallcovering is a pleated fabric. Thanks to the pleats, different lighting conditions change the appearance: an effect that is directly based on the iridescent wings of the most beautiful butterflies and the exotic colour shading of parrot feathers. The collection encompasses 2 plains which, thanks to the differing pleating techniques, each have their own, individual appearance. In addition, there are 3 eye-catching, flocked patterns and one embossed design. This makes a total of 6 designs, each of which bring a little rainforest magic into the interior.

Bark Cloth
Ode To The Oldest, Most Exotic Textile Technique
Tree bark for your interior. You have to be daring. Arte has truly surpassed itself with the collection called ‘Bark Cloth’. What you can see here, defies the imagination. And yet. The concept is not new. It is centuries old. But the idea to dust off this technique and bring it out again and give it a completely new dimension is of course Arte through and through. Please bear in mind that this is a 100% pure natural product which Arte works on while respecting the principles of fair trade. Bark Cloth can best be described as a fibrous type of textile that is made from the inside layer of bark of the Mutuba fig tree (Ficus natalensis). Some call it vegetable felt. The bark of the tree is opened, and the thin interior layer of bark is removed. This is first worked with a hammer to make the fibres soft and supple. Then the bark is coloured and dried in the sun. The tree trunk is wrapped up after this ‘harvest’ with a protective layer of banana leaves. As soon as these are dry, the bark layer grows back again. The tree itself is therefore never in any danger.
Boracay
The Boracay collection is truly unique. It is produced from woven banana leaves and water hyacinth. The plant material was bonded to a non-woven backing with the utmost care and attention and then woven and dyed. The result is a valuable and exceptionally decorative natural product that loves to be handled with care.
Cantala
The Pure Beauty Of Natural Materials
This collection honours the pure beauty of natural materials like sisal, raffia and paper. The authentic, graceful look of these products is the key feature. The collection owes its name to the Agave cantala, an exotic plant of the Agave family. Sisal fibres are derived from its long, slender leaves which are often up to two metres long. We often see this sisal used in fashion and interior design.
Curiosa
Give In To Your Wanderlust
Exoticism has an enchanting affect. Wild animals, tropical flowers and indigenous cultures have intrigued us for centuries. We want to know everything about them and ideally get to see them in real life. With the Curiosa collection by Arte, there is no need to leave home to set off on a voyage of discovery.
Carabao
A Touch Of The Exotic
For its Carabao collection, Arte departed for one of the most exotic locations in the world: the paradise that is the Philippines. One of the largest natural riches of this country is the banana tree and the bark of this tree has been used for this unique wallcovering.
This exotic collection is named after the national animal of the Philippines, the carabao or Asian water buffalo. An impressive beast with a characteristic head that is often used for tending the rice fields. Carabao Island, one of the 7,107 islands that together form the Philippines, was named after this animal.
Eclipse – Black & White Edition
No Twilight Zone…
Black & white. Yin & yang. Light & dark. Day & night. All these contrasts form the theme in the Eclipse collection. A successor, or rather an expansion of the Intrigue collection that Arte launched previously.
Both collections are fabric wallcoverings produced using a technique that Arte has mastered. The technique is called thermoforming. During thermoforming, motifs are pressed into the fabric using heat. This results not only in an attractive, three-dimensional pattern that feels thick and warm, but also provides a positive acoustical effect in the room.
Enigma
